The oil-injected screw compressor is the most widely used industrial compressor type, offering continuous high-flow compressed air production, 24/7 operation and low maintenance cost. In this design, two helical rotors continuously compress air while oil is injected for cooling, lubrication and sealing.

Role of the Separator in the Screw Compressor

The oil-air separator plays a critical role: after compression, the oil-air mixture enters the separator vessel. Using a coalescing mechanism and precision filter, the separator removes oil from the compressed air — the separated oil returns to the compressor's lubrication circuit while the filtered air is delivered as the output product.

Correct separator performance ensures the outlet air is clean, low in oil carryover, on-spec and fit for industrial use. A failed or low-quality separator can cause:
